DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY WEEKEND 2008

Over a weekend in March, which concluded with the Districts
Annual Cross Country run being held, Gravesham Explorers
camped overnight. On the Saturday they serviced all the canoes
which they will be using during the year. They also carried out
service works which involved clearing brambles and planting
 trees.

On the Sunday morning more trees were planted, other Explorers
acted as hares, guides and course markers for all the other races.
They then held their own race and then Explorers and Leaders
competing in the all comers race. Fortunately no pictures exist of
some leaders! The first two finishers in the Explorers race
finished first and third in the all comers race, seperated only by a
 leader from Sputnik.

Other Explorers were performing their Young Leader role, with
 the relevant section.
