DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD

 Gravesham Explorers as part of the training programme are
 given the opportunity to participate in The Duke of Edinburgh's
 Award.

 The Aim of the Award - The Duke of Edinburgh's Award aims to
 provide for young people an enjoyable, challenging and
 rewarding programme of personal development, which is of the
 highest quality and the widest reach.

 A summary of requirements is listed below

 BRONZE;
 Age: 14 years+
 Service: 3 months,
 Skills: 3 months
 Physical Recreation: 3 months
 Expeditions: Plan, prepare for and undertake a 2 day,
 1 night venture
 Additions Requirement: undertake a further 3 months in
 either of Service, Skills or Physical Recreation

 SILVER;
 Age:15 years+
 Service: 6 months
 Skills & Physical Recreation: One for 6 months &
  the other for 3 months,
 Expeditions: Plan, prepare for and undertake a 3 day,
 2 night venture,
 Additions Requirement: Undertake a further 6 months in
 either of Service, or the longer of Skills or Physical Recreation

 GOLD
 Age:16 years+
 Service: 12 months
 Skills & Physical Recreation: One for 12 months &
 the other for 6 months
 Expeditions: Plan, prepare for and undertake a 4 day, 3 night
 venture
 Residential Project: Undertake a shared activity in a
 residential setting away from home for 5 days and 4 nights,
 Additions Requirement: Undertake a further 6 months in either
 of Service, Skills or Physical Recreation
